These Terms and Conditions govern the services provided by Legal Tags LLC and are part of the agreement between Legal Tags LLC (“Legal Tags”) and the customer (“Customer”). By purchasing or using Legal Tags services, Customer agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
1. SERVICES
Legal Tags provides vehicle registration assistance, title assistance, filing assistance, document preparation, consulting, administrative support, registered agent services when applicable, and related services.
Legal Tags is a private service company. Legal Tags is not a governmental agency, law firm, tax adviser, accounting firm, lender, consumer reporting agency, insurer, or bonding company.
2. NO GUARANTEE OF OUTCOME
Legal Tags assists Customer with processes that often depend on governmental agencies and other third parties. Legal Tags does not control those parties and cannot guarantee:
- Registration approval;
- Title issuance;
- Temporary tag issuance;
- Title-bond approval;
- Eligibility;
- Processing times or completion dates; or
- Tax treatment.
Governmental agencies and third parties may impose additional requirements, cause delays, deny applications, or assess additional fees or penalties. Legal Tags is not responsible for delays, denials, additional requirements, or other actions caused by governmental agencies, lenders, insurers, bonding companies, shipping carriers, consumer reporting agencies, or other third parties.
3. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer agrees to:
- Provide complete and accurate information;
- Promptly provide requested documents and signatures;
- Complete required inspections and notarizations;
- Maintain a valid payment method; and
- Review information and documents for accuracy when requested.
Customer’s failure to provide required information or otherwise cooperate may delay or prevent completion of the Services and may affect Customer’s refund eligibility, result in additional fees, or cause the order to be abandoned. Customer is responsible for complying with all title, registration, tax, insurance, residency, garaging, and vehicle-use requirements that apply in Customer’s home state or any other applicable jurisdiction.
4. REFUND POLICY
Refunds Within 24 Hours
Customer may request a full refund within twenty-four (24) hours of purchase, provided Legal Tags has not submitted documents to a governmental agency or incurred non-refundable government or third-party expenses.
Refunds After 24 Hours
If work has begun, refunds requested more than twenty-four (24) hours after purchase may be reduced by a non-refundable $300 administrative fee. A refund may also be reduced or denied if Customer:
- Fails to provide required documents or information;
- Fails to cooperate with the process;
- Provides inaccurate or misleading information;
- Abandons the order; or
- Causes Legal Tags to incur non-refundable expenses.
Non-Refundable Amounts
Once incurred, paid, or earned, the following amounts are non-refundable except where required by law:
- Payment-plan fees;
- Fees for completed work;
- Government fees;
- Title-bond costs;
- Consumer-report costs;
- Third-party fees;
- Processing fees;
- Notary fees;
- Inspection fees; and
- Shipping fees.
Any applicable $300 administrative fee is separate from non-refundable government or third-party expenses already incurred on Customer’s behalf.
5. PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION
Customer authorizes Legal Tags to charge the payment method provided for amounts related to Customer’s order, including:
- Service fees;
- Filing and government fees;
- Approved third-party charges;
- Payment-plan installments and administrative fees;
- Shipping costs;
- Title-bond charges; and
- Registered Agent renewal fees, when applicable.
Additional title-bond premiums resulting from vehicle value, bond amount, or underwriting requirements may not be included in Customer’s original Total Payment Plan and may require separate payment. If Customer believes a charge is incorrect or unauthorized, Customer agrees to contact Legal Tags and provide a reasonable opportunity to address the issue before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.
6. REGISTERED AGENT AND ANNUAL REPORT SERVICES
If Customer’s purchase includes the formation or use of a Montana Limited Liability Company (“LLC”), Customer understands that maintaining the LLC in good standing requires an annual filing with the Montana Secretary of State and continuous appointment of a registered agent.
Annual Service
Legal Tags provides Registered Agent and Annual Report filing services for $97 per year. The annual service includes Legal Tags serving as the LLC’s registered agent and preparing and filing the required Montana Annual Report. Legal Tags will send renewal reminders before the applicable annual due date. Failure to renew may result in additional fees, loss of good standing, administrative dissolution of the LLC, or interruption of services that depend upon the LLC remaining active.
Automatic Renewal
Customer authorizes Legal Tags to automatically charge the payment method on file $97 annually for Registered Agent and Annual Report filing services. This authorization remains in effect until Customer cancels the service or revokes the authorization before a future renewal charge is processed. Cancellation applies only to future renewals. Cancellation does not reverse charges already processed or fees for services already performed.
7. PAYMENT-PLAN TERMS
If Customer selects a payment plan, the following administrative fees apply:
- Two payments: $50;
- Three payments: $100; or
- Four payments: $150.
These are flat administrative fees for establishing and managing the payment plan. They are not calculated as interest. There is no penalty for paying the remaining balance early. Administrative fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by law. Remaining installments will automatically be charged according to the dates or frequency shown in Customer’s Purchase Summary. If no other schedule is listed, installments will generally be processed approximately every thirty (30) days. Legal Tags may pause work or cancel Services if a payment fails, is reversed or disputed, or remains unpaid.
8. HOME-STATE COMPLIANCE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Forming or using a Montana LLC, obtaining a Montana title or registration, or appointing a Montana registered agent does not automatically exempt Customer from the laws of another state or jurisdiction. Customer is responsible for determining and maintaining compliance with the laws and requirements of any jurisdiction in which Customer resides or in which the vehicle is garaged, stored, operated, titled, registered, insured, or taxed. This may include requirements concerning:
- Title and registration;
- Sales, use, property, or other taxes;
- Insurance;
- Emissions and safety inspections;
- Residency;
- Vehicle garaging and storage; and
- Vehicle operation and use.
Customer assumes responsibility for taxes, fees, interest, penalties, citations, assessments, insurance disputes, registration challenges, or enforcement actions imposed by another jurisdiction as a result of Customer’s ownership or use of the vehicle. Legal Tags does not provide legal, tax, accounting, insurance, or residency advice. Customer should consult an appropriate licensed professional regarding Customer’s individual obligations.
9. CUSTOMER INDEMNIFICATION
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Legal Tags and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, taxes, penalties, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from:
- Inaccurate or misleading information provided by Customer;
- Customer’s violation of applicable law;
- Customer’s failure to pay applicable taxes, fees, penalties, or insurance obligations;
- Customer’s use, garaging, ownership, titling, or registration of the vehicle; or
- Customer’s failure to comply with home-state or other jurisdictional requirements.
This indemnification does not apply to liability finally determined to result from Legal Tags’ fraud or willful misconduct.
10. PRIVACY AND DATA SECURITY

Legal Tags may collect personal information reasonably necessary to provide the Services. This information may include:
- Name, address, telephone number, and email address;
- Date of birth;
- Identification information;
- Vehicle information;
- Payment information;
- Social Security number when required;
- Documents, photographs, and signatures; and
- Communications with Legal Tags.
How We Use Information
Legal Tags may use Customer information to:
- Provide the Services;
- Verify identity;
- Prepare and submit documents and filings;
- Process payments;
- Prevent fraud; and
- Obtain or arrange title bonds and related services.
Information Sharing
When reasonably necessary to provide the Services, Legal Tags may share Customer information with governmental agencies and appropriate third parties, including bonding agencies, underwriters, insurers, consumer reporting agencies, payment processors, identity-verification providers, inspectors, notaries, shipping providers, professional advisers, and technology or document-processing providers.
Information Security
Legal Tags will use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect sensitive information. Access to sensitive information will be limited to persons with a legitimate need for the information. Sensitive records will be retained only as reasonably necessary and will be securely destroyed or rendered unreadable when no longer required.
11. CONSUMER REPORT AND TITLE-BOND AUTHORIZATION
When a title bond, increased bond amount, identity verification, or underwriting review is required, Customer authorizes Legal Tags and the applicable bonding agency, underwriter, insurer, consumer reporting agency, or service provider to collect and use identifying information necessary to complete that process.
This information may include Customer’s:
- Name;
- Date of birth;
- Address;
- Social Security number; and
- Other identifying information reasonably required for the applicable review.
Customer authorizes a consumer report, soft credit inquiry, identity-verification report, or underwriting review for the limited purpose of evaluating or arranging a title bond. Legal Tags cannot guarantee how a third party will classify or display an inquiry. Bond approval, pricing, collateral requirements, and underwriting decisions are determined by the applicable bonding agency or underwriter. If adverse action is taken based upon a consumer report, the party legally responsible for the decision will provide any notice required by applicable law.
12. CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES
Customer agrees not to initiate an improper chargeback, payment reversal, or stop payment for an authorized charge. If Customer believes a charge is incorrect or unauthorized, Customer agrees to contact Legal Tags first and provide a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address the issue. In responding to a chargeback or payment dispute, Legal Tags may provide documentation demonstrating the authorization of the charge or performance of the Services, including:
- This Agreement;
- Electronic signatures and checkbox acknowledgments;
- Emails and text messages;
- Uploaded documents;
- Payment confirmations;
- Work logs;
- Shipping records;
- Governmental submissions; and
- Customer portal activity.
13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legal Tags shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages. Legal Tags is not responsible for delays or losses caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including actions or delays involving:
- Governmental agencies;
- Bonding companies and consumer reporting agencies;
- Lenders and insurers;
- Inspectors and notaries;
- Mail and shipping carriers;
- Payment processors;
- Regulatory or legal changes;
- System or technology outages;
- Customer delay; or
- Other events beyond Legal Tags’ reasonable control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legal Tags’ total liability arising from an order shall not exceed the service fees actually paid directly to Legal Tags for the Services giving rise to the claim. Government fees, taxes, bond costs, payment-processing fees, and other third-party charges are excluded when calculating this limitation.
14. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS AND SIGNATURES
To the extent permitted by law, electronic signatures, typed signatures, checkbox acknowledgments, online authorizations, SMS confirmations, and electronic records have the same legal effect as handwritten signatures and paper records. Customer consents to receive communications electronically, including:
- Agreements and disclosures;
- Invoices and payment reminders;
- Renewal notices;
- Document requests;
- Service and status updates; and
- Other communications relating to Customer’s Services.
15. GOVERNING LAW AND GENERAL TERMS
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Montana, except where another jurisdiction’s non-waivable law applies. Any dispute arising under this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in Montana unless applicable law prohibits exclusive Montana venue. If any provision of this Agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
